Truxton Community Center

The mission of the Truxton Community Center is to provide a community and educational facility that will improve the quality of life and rural services available, enhance the Truxton area's economic vitality, attract new community members, and augment the Truxton area as a whole.

Public Library Hours

- 1st & 3rd Thursdays

 CHAMP at Truxton


Afterschool Program open to ALL K-6 students regardless of where they attend school. Scholarships available. Please see below for more details!

Registration for the CHAMPS at Truxton afterschool childcare is now online at  This after-school childcare program is sponsored by the Truxton Community Center and operated by the JM McDonald Center. 


The childcare program will be at the Truxton Community Center, site of the Truxton Academy Charter School. It will be open to ALL K-6 students, regardless of whether they attend Truxton Academy or not.

It will run daily from 3-6PM. Days of operation are based on the Homer School Calendar.


It will be a sister program to the afterschool childcare program that has been offered at the JM McDonald Center. Scholarships are available. The CHAMP mission is “To provide a healthy, activity based after-school program for grade school students ... that provides a mentorship connection with SUNY Cortland physical education majors through a NY State licensed childcare program.”
